1000 Companies to Inspire Britain
JR Smart and Llanmoor Homes have both been identified in the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain. To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years, significantly outperforming their industry peers. More detail on the methodology can be found in the report online at www.1000companies.com
Our design work with these successful companies in Cardiff
As a creative design agency, the Martin Hopkins team have been lucky enough to support both Llanmoor Homes and JR Smart throughout their marketing, both print and digital. Creative design has been an important step in marketing their developments and properties in order to increase sales and promote business awareness. Both are vital steps for the companies’ growth.
We have worked closely with Llanmoor Homes for many years to produce their new website, print signage and hand-outs, as well as advertising in the local press and various other designs. Our ongoing working relationship with Llanmoor makes us extemely proud of their achievements as a forward-thinking family run business.
Being one of our longest standing clients, we have also worked with JR Smart consistently over the years and have recently began work on their new website design, as well as print design for their new city centre development. We have also been fortunate enough to work on their site branding and hoarding designs to promote each development to it’s full potential. Innovative marketing strategies and striking brochure designs set them apart from their competition.

Xavier Rolet, Chief Executive, London Stock Exchange Group said:
“Four years on, LSEG’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report continues to highlight the dynamic, entrepreneurial and ambitious businesses across the country that are boosting UK productivity, driving economic growth and creating jobs. The strength and diversity of these companies is readily apparent with a broad mix of UK regions and sectors represented. These companies are the very heart of an ‘anti-fragile’ economy: more robust; more flexible and less prone to boom and bust. We must ensure we continue doing all we can to support high growth potential businesses like these.

FAQ about 1000 Companies
Why does London Stock Exchange Group produce this report? We understand the importance in showcasing and supporting the UK’s dynamic SMEs. These businesses have a unique capacity to innovate and create new jobs, in turn spearheading the growth of the UK economy.
Do companies need to meet certain criteria to be included in the report? We worked with the research company, DueDil, to identify the list of the 1000 companies.
Companies had to meet certain criteria: be UK-registered and active; have revenues between £6 million and £250 million, based on latest Companies House filings and have a minimum of three years in operation.
Having identified a long list of eligible companies, we then separated them into their Standard Classification (SIC) grouping and computed the average compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in percentage (based on turnover growth) for each SIC sector over a four-year period and within each SIC sector, then ranked companies by their individual CAGR percentage. We then identified the companies that have most outperformed their sector averages.
This unique methodology reveals a community of UK businesses richer and more varied than we believe ever identified in any other exercise of this type.
More detail on the methodology can be found on page 125 of the report.
