With Cardiff now a centre of development and progression, there isn’t a better time to invest in the future of the Welsh capital. We were excited to create a brand identity and brochure design for a new city centre development from JR Smart, one of our longest standing clients. The new John Street development is a stone’s throw from the city centre and Cardiff Central rail station, supplying essential commuter links.
At the centre of it all, John Street’s offerings and location make for effective and successful marketing. We worked closely with JR Smart to produce John Street’s identity, as well as additional signage, print and hoarding elements.

Creating an identity
By using a strong, bright accent colour, John Street’s energetic brand was instantly set apart from other developments. We worked to design a unique identity, using bespoke illustrations as part of the marketing visuals and brochure design. To showcase Cardiff’s bright future as a business hub for a new generation, we used a vibrant yellow throughout the marketing material. John Street places businesses at the centre of it all, and by utilising a yellow circle to represent a spotlight, this message was easily communicated.
At the centre of it all
Alongside developing a brand identity, we also produced a brochure design showcasing John Street as a hub for Welsh and national business. We created a design with clear and concise messaging, ensuring key specifications and visuals were showcased beautifully. Never an agency to miss the details, it was important to add unique touches and elegant finishes to reflect this premium development.
The brochure was accompanied by hoarding designs for the site. For these designs it was key to communicate the benefits and office environment John Street offers to passers-by. Aspirational messaging and bold illustrations create an engaging presence at the road side.
Modern and professional
Inspired by the building’s structure, we used a strong and linear layout throughout the marketing material to contrast the loose style illustrations. By creating a friendly tone of voice and using aspirational language we ensured the right atmosphere would be translated into the office environment. John Street’s new identity and presence from street to print sets it apart from the crowd for potential business occupants.
